Service Fees Policy
- Introduction
Service fees are charged for the use of the Egy Stay platform and the technical services, support, booking facilitation, electronic payment processing, and communication tools it provides between hosts and tenants.
These fees are intended to cover operating costs, booking verification, and to ensure a safe and seamless experience for all users. - Definition of Service Fees
Service fees are fixed amounts or percentage-based charges deducted from the value of each booking made through the Egy Stay platform. These fees may be charged to either one party or both parties (the host and the tenant), depending on the booking mechanism and the type of service provided. - Service Fees for Tenants
• A nominal service fee is added to the total booking amount and is clearly displayed before the payment is completed.
• These fees include administrative costs, technical support, and the security of the electronic payment process.
• The fees are collected automatically as part of the total payment amount and are non-refundable except where the booking is cancelled by the host or the booking fails due to a system or platform error. - Service Fees for Hosts
• The platform deducts a specified percentage from the value of each confirmed booking, usually ranging from 5% to 15%, before transferring the amount to the host.
• This percentage covers digital marketing services, booking management, payment collection, and technical support.
• The fee percentage is clearly displayed in the host dashboard or in the registration agreement.
• The host may not require the tenant to pay any additional fees outside the platform for the same service. - Timing of Fee Deduction
• Service fees are deducted automatically during payment processing or when funds are transferred to the host.
• In the event of a refund or cancellation, the fees or part of them may be returned only if the service has not started or the booking has not been confirmed.
• If the booking is completed or the stay has begun, the fees shall be deemed earned and non-refundable. - Fee Transparency
• All fees are displayed clearly before the completion of any booking or payment process.
• Users have the right to review the details of the amounts and fees on the confirmation page or in the electronic invoice.
• The platform undertakes not to impose any hidden or undisclosed fees. - Changes to Fee Rates
• Egy Stay reserves the right to amend service fee rates at any time in line with market conditions or operational requirements.
• Users will be notified in advance by email or through an in-account notice before any amendment takes effect.
• Any amendments shall apply only to future bookings made after the date of the announcement. - Taxes and Additional Charges
• Value Added Tax (if applicable) or any government-imposed charges under Egyptian law may be added.
• All taxes and additional charges are displayed clearly within the payment details before the transaction is completed.
• Each party shall be responsible for its own taxes according to its legal status as a host or tenant. - Exceptions and Fee Refunds
Service fees may be refunded only in the following cases:
• If the booking is cancelled by the host before the check-in date.
• If the booking fails due to technical reasons or an error by the platform.
• If the request is rejected before the tenant is charged.
In all other cases, service fees are considered final and non-refundable once the payment process has been completed. - General Provisions
• Service fees may not be transferred to other parties.
• A user’s completion of a booking constitutes an explicit acknowledgment and acceptance of this policy.
• This policy shall be governed by Egyptian law and interpreted in accordance with the principles of fairness and transparency in commercial transactions.
