Rebooking Policy

1. Introduction

Egy Stay ensures a reliable and safe booking experience for all users.
If a booking cannot be fulfilled due to reasons beyond any party’s control, the platform offers a rebooking option as a fair alternative to maintain service continuity without affecting user rights.


2. Eligible Rebooking Cases

Guests may request rebooking if:

  1. The host cancels the booking before arrival.

  2. The property is not ready at the scheduled time (maintenance, cleaning, or service outages).

  3. The property does not match the description or images after verification by Egy Stay.

  4. Force majeure events prevent staying (natural disasters, government restrictions).

  5. Technical or administrative errors by the platform affect the booking.

🔹 Personal reasons such as change of plan or lack of desire to stay are not eligible.


3. Rebooking Procedure

Upon approval:

  1. Propose alternative units similar in price, location, and features within 48 hours.

  2. If the new unit is more expensive, the guest pays the difference.

  3. If cheaper, the difference is refunded within 3–7 business days.

  4. Payment may be converted to platform credit usable within 6 months.

🔸 All rebookings occur exclusively through the platform to ensure secure payments.


4. Approval Conditions

Guests must:

  • Submit a formal request via account or email: 📧 rebooking@egystay.com

  • Include booking number, date, and reason.

  • Submit within 24 hours of the issue.

  • Follow platform decisions regarding alternatives or compensation.


5. Rebooking for Hosts

If unable to host due to unavoidable circumstances:

  • Notify the platform immediately to avoid cancellation penalties.

  • Platform assists in transferring booking to another unit at the same price if possible.

  • Host remains responsible for refunding or covering differences if error causes direct loss.


6. If Rebooking is Impossible

If no suitable alternative is available:

  • Full refund to the original payment method.

  • Refund takes 3–10 business days depending on bank or provider.

  • Refund represents final settlement of the canceled booking.


7. Platform Responsibility

  • Egy Stay acts as a technical and administrative intermediary only.

  • Ensures fair and transparent rebooking process.

  • Not liable for indirect losses from cancellation or delays.

9. General Provisions

  • Rebooking cannot occur outside the platform.

  • Once confirmed, rebooking is final except per cancellation policy.

  • Platform may reject/suspend requests for misuse or inaccurate data.

  • Governed by Egyptian law; Cairo courts have jurisdiction.
