Payment Policy
- Introduction
Payment transactions on the “Egy Stay” platform are managed in a secure and transparent manner that protects the rights of both hosts and tenants. The platform uses approved electronic payment systems in accordance with the highest financial security standards recognized locally and internationally. - Accepted Payment Methods
The platform supports a range of payment methods to facilitate bookings, including:
• Credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, and Meeza).
• E-wallets, such as Vodafone Cash, Etisalat Cash, and others.
• Direct bank transfer to the official “Egy Stay” account.
• Payment through approved secure electronic payment gateways.
• Available payment methods may be updated from time to time based on contractual arrangements or local legal requirements.
- Payment Mechanism
- Confirmed Booking:
Once the tenant confirms the booking, the total amount or part of it is charged, depending on the booking type and cancellation policy. - Temporary Authorization Hold:
In some cases, the amount may be temporarily authorized on the payment card without being charged until the booking is accepted by the host. - Transfer of Funds to the Host:
The host’s financial entitlement is transferred within 24 to 48 hours after the actual start of the stay, in order to ensure that check-in has commenced and that no complaint has been raised by the tenant. - Platform Commission:
A service fee or commission is deducted from each booking in favor of the “Egy Stay” platform, and it is automatically deducted before the amount is transferred to the host. - Financial Security Policy
• All payment transactions are processed through encrypted channels using SSL/TLS protocols to ensure the confidentiality of card data.
• The platform does not directly store credit card details on its servers.
• Only approved payment service providers are allowed access to transaction data within the limits of applicable legal protection.
• If any unauthorized activity is detected, the user must notify support immediately via email at payments@egystay.com. - Cancellation and Refund Policy
• If the tenant cancels a booking, the cancellation policy stated on the unit page shall apply.
• If the tenant is entitled to a full or partial refund, the amount will be returned to the same payment method within 3 to 10 business days, depending on the bank or service provider.
• Any service fees, bank transfer charges, or payment gateway commissions may be deducted from the refunded amount, if applicable. - Additional Charges and Taxes
• Cleaning fees, security deposits, or local taxes may be added in accordance with Egyptian law, and they will be displayed clearly before the booking is confirmed.
• If there is a security deposit for the unit, it will be refunded after the tenant checks out, provided that no damages or violations are found. - Delayed or Failed Payment
• If a payment transaction fails for any reason, such as bank rejection or an expired card, the booking shall not be considered confirmed until payment is successfully completed.
• “Egy Stay” reserves the right to cancel the booking automatically if payment is not completed within the specified period.
• No unit shall be considered officially reserved until payment is confirmed and the relevant electronic notification has been received. - Financial Disputes
• In the event of any dispute regarding payments, both parties must first contact the Egy Stay support team in an attempt to reach an amicable solution.
• If no agreement is reached within 7 business days, the dispute may be escalated to the relevant banking authority or competent legal authorities.
• The platform reserves the right to hold any disputed amounts until the matter is officially resolved. - Acknowledgments
By using the services of “Egy Stay,” you acknowledge and agree to the following:
• That all payments are made voluntarily and with your prior consent.
• That you are the lawful owner or authorized user of the payment method used.
• That you are aware of the refund and cancellation policy applicable to each booking.
• That you are responsible for any bank charges or external transfer fees related to payment or refund transactions. - Amendments to the Payment Policy
“Egy Stay” reserves the right to amend or update this Payment Policy at any time in accordance with Egyptian law and banking instructions.
Any amendments shall take effect immediately upon publication on the website, and continued use of the services shall constitute acceptance of the updated policy.
