Off-Platform Policy
- Introduction
Egy Stay seeks to provide a safe and reliable environment that protects the rights of all users, whether hosts or tenants, by ensuring that booking, payment, and communication processes are conducted only through the platform’s official system.
Accordingly, any financial transactions, negotiations, or rental arrangements conducted outside the platform are strictly prohibited. - Definition of Off-Platform Transactions
“Off-platform transactions” include any of the following:
• Direct communication between users (host and tenant) for the purpose of completing a booking or payment outside the website or application.
• Exchanging phone numbers, bank account details, or personal payment methods in order to complete the transaction outside the platform.
• Offering or accepting booking arrangements or stay extensions through external means, such as WhatsApp, private calls, or in-person meetings, without documenting them through the website or application.
• Transferring funds directly between the parties without using the payment gateway approved by Egy Stay. - Purpose of This Policy
This policy is intended to: - Protect users from fraud or undocumented transactions.
- Ensure the financial rights of both parties through the platform’s secure payment systems.
- Preserve the integrity and transparency of the system and prevent the platform from being used for unauthorized activities.
- Ensure that the platform receives the service fees necessary to continue providing support, security, and technical intermediation services.
- Risks of Off-Platform Transactions
The user acknowledges that if they engage in transactions outside the platform:
• They lose all rights to protection, support, or compensation from Egy Stay in the event of a dispute or fraud.
• The platform bears no responsibility for financial losses or issues resulting from such transactions.
• The user will be deemed in violation of the Terms and Conditions and may be subject to disciplinary actions, including permanent account suspension. - Penalties and Actions
If an off-platform transaction is proven or reasonably suspected: - Egy Stay has the right to temporarily suspend the account pending investigation.
- If the violation is confirmed, the platform may:
• Cancel all bookings associated with the user.
• Deduct or confiscate any amounts due as a result of the violation.
• Permanently close the account and prevent future registration.
• Take legal action if the violation causes financial damage or harms the platform’s reputation. - Limited Exceptions
Communication outside the platform is permitted only in the following cases:
• After a confirmed booking has been completed through the system, and only for logistical purposes such as arranging check-in, handover, or delivery details.
• In such cases, communication must take place using the information automatically provided by the platform after booking confirmation, and not before.
• Such communication may not be used for any financial transaction or any offer outside the platform. - Duty to Report
If a user receives any request or offer from another user to complete a booking or payment outside the platform,
the user must immediately report it to Egy Stay via email at:
report@egystay.com
This is intended to protect all parties from fraud or misuse. - General Provisions
• Any transaction conducted outside the platform shall not be legally recognized within the Egy Stay system.
• The platform reserves the right to take the technical or legal measures necessary to ensure compliance with this policy.
• This policy shall be governed by Egyptian law and interpreted in accordance with the principles of security and transparency in electronic transactions.
